Bug Stomping


We've been busy this update stomping out plenty of bugs bringing both visual and gameplay improvements as we edge ever so closer to beta.

Improvements this release include:

  • Adjusting the logic to prevent the player spawning in a planet and immediately blowing up.
  • Distortion can be deactivated within the Show Options menu.
  • The window no longer reads keyboard input when not in focus.
  • The vertical slider value indicators have been increased in size.
  • Vertical and horizontal sliders have had some minor graphical adjustments.
  • Reloading and firing missiles should report more accurate error messages if the process fails.
  • Compass values for bearing and track are constrained to 360 degrees and will always show as a three-digit number.
  • Setting the engines to a high negative value will report a warning.
  • Once you're out of fuel, you cannot move or steer the ship (outside of Newtonian physics).
  • If the target lock is destroyed, it will report it in the log and remove the lock.
  • Show commands displays correctly.
  • Show engineers displays correctly.
  • Port and starboard missiles show on the correct side.
  • OpenAL32.dll now included in the application directory, which should fix issues preventing some users from launching the game.

Phew, that's quite a lot of bug fixed! The list of things to add and fix is getting smaller and smaller which means we'll hopefully be not too far off entering beta - this doesn't mark the end of things, but means that we'll switch our attention to balancing and fixing any of the issues we've missed and have been reported by the community.
